"Making up our minds on the look of our new bed took longer than the actual construction.  The pencil post design was an easy choice, but the head board was another matter.  Living on the Potomac River, we have awesome sunsets and sun rises. Part of the design is finding the correct wood species to achieve the desired outcome. Andy was anxious to show us the actual lumber, from his large selection of locally harvested logs.  We learned that Andy's primary source of material is from the Northern Neck of Virginia. He mills, kiln dries and ages all of his lumber. When building a piece Andy knows the wood and its history very well. A great design is only as good as the furniture maker. Andy's craftsmanship must be seen to be appreciated.
